Elizabethtown Area High School’s 2025 Mini-THON Raises $52,813 for Pediatric Cancer Research

Elizabethtown Area High School’s annual Four Diamonds Mini-THON was a resounding success, raising an impressive $52,813 in support of pediatric cancer research and patient care. Modeled after Penn State’s THON, the event united students, staff, and the community in a night filled with energy, hope, and philanthropy.

This year’s Mini-THON, themed "One Sweet Step Closer to a Cure," was led by student leaders Senior Adrienne Crick, Junior Annale Nygyuen, and Freshman Noelle O’Brien. Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 14, students danced, sang, competed, and played games throughout the night—all while remaining on their feet in anticipation of the final fundraising reveal at 6 a.m. on March 15.

A highlight of the evening was the Light of Hope lantern ceremony, which concluded the Community Hours portion of the event. The ceremony provided a moving tribute to those affected by childhood cancer and served as a reminder of the impact the Mini-THON mission has on families in need.

Mini-THON holds a special place in the heart of the Elizabethtown community, inspired by the memory of Chris Millard, a former Elizabethtown Area Middle School student who bravely battled cancer. Millard's story of courage and resilience continues to inspire students in their fundraising efforts. Elizabethtown Area High School has raised over $700,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund through its Mini-THON initiatives.

The success of Mini-THON would not be possible without the dedication of the faculty, staff, and administrators who supported the event by chaperoning students throughout the night. The District extends special thanks to Christa Raundenbush and Megan Skillan for their outstanding leadership as faculty advisors.

The District also expresses its sincere gratitude to the Elizabethtown community for its generosity in supporting this student-led initiative. It is not too late to contribute—those who wish to donate can visit the Mini-THON event page at http://tiny.cc/a63c001 to make a difference.
